Students in the Automotive Mechanics program at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) are currently working on several different parts of their task list, such as the fundamentals and types of suspension, torsion bars, shock absorbers, Macpherson struts, leaf, air and coil springs. Kurtis Hand from Clearfield Area High School explained that the springs hold the weight above the tires while shock absorbers reduce road shock.
