CCCTC Electrical Occupations Students Tour Shawville Powerplant

Electrical Occupations students at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) had the opportunity to tour Shawville Powerplant on Monday, May 13.  Students were able to see the internal workings of the plant, which included the latest natural gas conversion from coal, control center updates, large generators, transformers, motors, and massive boilers that produce steam, and in return makes electrical energy for Clearfield and the surrounding areas.  Pictured are Mr. Ron Schick, Mr. Jack Rumfola and the Electrical Occupations students.  This is another example of local partnerships creating opportunities for our students at the CCCTC.   A special thank you to Gen On and John Telford for hosting this tour.  To learn more about the opportunities at the CCCTC, visit us at www.ccctc.edu.
