Students in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) program at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center (CCCTC) are learning skills that will prepare them in the future as an HVAC/R technician. Students learn many different skill sets throughout the year and are currently learning about air conditioning maintenance. One of the most important maintenance tasks that will improve the efficiency of your air conditioner is routinely replacing or cleaning the air filters. Some other important tasks are cleaning the air conditioner’s coils, removing debris from the unit, and straightening coil fins. In photo are CCCTC HVAC/R students Nate Bloom, Moshannon Valley Area High School; Frank Thomas, West Branch Area High School; and Mason Carfley, Clearfield Area High School performing air conditioning maintenance.
