Students in the Masonry and Construction program at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) recently visited Glen Gery in Bigler and Swisher Concrete Products. The local businesses graciously opened their doors to the CCCTC Masonry students for a tour. Students had the opportunity to see the process of how brick and block are manufactured. They also learned that a lot of the material that is used for making the brick at Glen Gery is locally resourced in Central PA (which was once the brick capital of the United States). Visiting local businesses give the students a better understanding of their trade as a whole. To learn more about the opportunities at the CCCTC, visit us at www.ccctc.edu.
