Students in the Precision Machine Technology program at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) recently completed several NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) credentials in their program.  NIMS sets industry skills standards, certifies individual skills against the standards, and accredits training programs that meet NIMS quality requirements.  Students in the Precision Machine program work on many tasks that have to be measured, sometimes within one-thousandths of an inch (that is one third of the diameter of a human hair).  In order to complete tasks, students need proper skills to be a successful machinist.  Completing these credentials help prepare them for their future in becoming a machinist.  Adam Morlock has earned the CNC Milling Operator, Milling I, Measurement, Materials, & Safety, and Turning Operations: Turning Between Centers.  Michael Waple has earned: CNC Turning: Programming Setup and Operations, CNC Milling: Programming Setup and operations, Measurement, Materials, and Safety, CNC Milling Operator, Milling I, and Turning Operations: Turning Between Centers. Ty Maines has earned: CNC lathe Operator, Turning Operations: Turning Between Centers, and Measurement, Materials, and Safety.  Noah Foster has earned: CNC Turning: Programming Setup and Operations, CNC Milling: Programming Setup and operations, Measurement, Materials, and Safety, CNC Milling Operator, Milling I, and Turning Operations: Turning Between Centers. Joseph Matthews has earned: Milling I and Measurement, Materials, and Safety. Creighton Sones has earned: Measurement, Materials, and Safety.  To learn more about the opportunities in the Precision Machine Technology program at CCCTC, visit us at www.ccctc.edu.
