The Clearfield County Career and Technology Center was the recipient of the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) project Stream Grant. The school was awarded $1,131. The Welding and Metal Fabrication Technology Program showcased their welding skills by creating an art project to display by the school entrance. Students created a school sign using the bigfoot mascot. Mr. Rupert, welding instructor, oversaw the project while students created their design from sheet metal, angle iron, metal pipe. Once the project was welded and sanded, the Collision Repair Technology Program under the supervision of Mr. Darrin Dale painted the sign. Mr. Barger, Carpentry and Building Technology Instructor donated his time on the weekend and his personal equipment to install the sign for the school. Mrs. McKendrick, Student Services Coordinator wrote and applied for the grant from Pennsylvania Council for the Arts. State Representative Matt Gabler and Pennsylvania Partner in the Arts Grant Coordinator Kristen Grey from the IU were all in support of this grant. The PPA Arts Grant was a great opportunity for students to work collaboratively together with other projects and to showcase their career and technical skills.
