CCCTC Welding and Metal Fabrication Student Practices Torch Cutting

Clearfield County Career and Technology Center’s Welding and Metal Fabrication student, Marina Garrison, from Curwensville Area High School, is learning torch cutting. Welders frequently us oxy-fuel cutting, a process that uses a fuel gas and oxygen to cut metals. A torch with a specially designed tip is connected to a fuel tank that mixes the fuel with oxygen in order to produce a high-temperature flame cone to cut through metals.
