Mr. Rupert and Ms. Vicary share a best practice with the staff. Using Canva for their class meetings with the welding students keeps them on track with their goals for the day. Additionally, they have had the students take ownership of their classroom safety by finding something “wrong” in the shop and fixing it/coming up with a solution to fix it. These teachers are also very transparent about their shop’s budget, helping the students understand how much welding materials cost, which has created an environment where students use their resources more efficiently.
