Welding & Metal Fabrication Students at CCCTC are Learning Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

Students in the Welding and Metal Fabrication program at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) are learning shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), also known as stick welding.  SMAW is a manual process using flux coated consumable electrode with metal rod at the core.  In photo on the left is Henry Bumbarger, Philipsburg-Osceola Area high School; and Shane Haney, Curwensville Area High School.
