CCCTC Announces September, October, & November 2023 Sunflower Awards in the Part-Time Practical Nursing Program

Practical Nursing Student, Samantha Agnello was nominated for the September 2023 Sunflower
Award by Brittani Morris and Madisyn Pritchard. Samantha is in her second semester in the
part-time CCCTC Practical Nursing Program and is being recognized for her strengths in going
above and beyond expectations in the care of her patients, support to fellow students, facility
members or communities.
The sunflower was chosen as it represents happiness, optimism, honesty, longevity, peace,
admiration, and devotion. The sunflower surpasses all others in terms of its universal power to
bring people joy – all qualities future nurses hope to possess and show to their patients. The
student is nominated by fellow students, patients, instructors or anyone who has been touched
and inspired by their work, kindness, compassion, and dedication.
The students had this to say about Samantha in their nomination: “She always has a positive
attitude and she goes above and beyond. She is always willing to help a patient, no matter the
reason. She is such a genuine and caring person.”

The students had this to say about Madisyn in their nominations: “She always helps me with patients and call bells.  She always lends a hand in helping understand things after a lecture when needed.”  Students had this to say about Mary-Lou in their nominations: “She helps in the skills lab when students struggle with a new skill.  She never judged or made a big deal about it.”
