The students at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center’s SkillsUSA Community Service Team held an assembly to talk to the students about their upcoming project. Students that are in SkillsUSA are required to do something for the community as part of the competition they enter into. The purpose of this is to evaluate a local chapter of SkillsUSA and how they benefit the community and to recognize excellence and professionalism in the area of community service. Students at the CCCTC decided to do their community service project for foster care children. After research, they found that most foster care students are taken out of their homes very abruptly and most only have the items on their back. They wanted the children to have a bag of items that is theirs when they leave. Students are collecting items for these bags in each of the programs.
