Cooperative Education
Co-Operative Education This program combines classroom instruction with workplace experience; the Diversified Occupations program provides a cooperative arrangement between the school and employers where the student receives general education instruction in the school and on-the-job training through at least 15 hours a week of employment in business/industry. CAPSTONE: Think of this as the finishing touch to the CCCTC program the student is already involved in. This experience gives the student the chance to go to work instead of attending CCCTC class. The students “cap off” their in-school training with related job experience at an approved training site.
Pennsylvania requires that companies entering in the Co-Op agreements must have an adult with clearances in the workplace. The clearance listed below must be completed and returned to Clearfield County Career and Technology Center, Attention Jack Rumfola, 1620 River Road, Clearfield, PA. 16830. These clearances must be completed prior to any student beginning Co-Op. If you have any questions please contact Jack Rumfola at 814-768-4614 or Email Jack Rumfola.
Clearances
Act 34-The PA State Police clearance is obtained through the Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) system. Results are not mailed; you can print your clearance immediately unless it goes under review. If that occurs, you will need to return to the ePATCH site after a few days to print it. This Act 34 Clearance is a mandatory criminal background check for anyone working with children, including schools and contractors. When completing the application, please choose the free volunteer option.
Act 151-The Child Abuse Clearance requires a two-step process. First, register for the portal by selecting “Create Individual Account,” clicking Next, and entering your information. When creating your Keystone ID, choose a username and save it for future use. After registering, you will receive an email with a temporary password. Once you receive it, return to the site to log in and complete the Child Abuse application. To check the status of your request, you may call the Department of Public Welfare, ChildLine and Abuse Registry at 1-717-783-6211. This clearance is valid for five years. When completing the application, please choose the free volunteer option.
Act 114-Federal Criminal History Record clearance is required to enter a Co-Op or internship agreement, and the cost for this clearance is $24.95. You must obtain the clearance under the PA Department of Education (PDE), as no other type of FBI clearance will be accepted. To complete this requirement, register with IdentoGO for fingerprinting services—either online or by calling 1-844-321-2101. Use service code 1KG6NX when scheduling. Follow the prompts to schedule or manage your appointment by entering the required information, creating security questions, selecting the identification you will bring, entering your zip code, choosing a location, and setting your appointment time. After you are fingerprinted, email your UEID number, found on your IdentoGO receipt, to Robin Dusch. This clearance is valid for five years.
